Braden Montgomery is heating up at just the right time. The former Texas A&M standout and Chicago White Sox top prospect launched his first Triple-A home run on Thursday night, sending a no-doubt shot over the left-field wall for the Charlotte Knights. The blast came in the bottom of the third inning with the game tied, showcasing the same explosive bat speed and raw power that turned heads during spring training.

Through just nine games at the Triple-A level, the switch-hitting outfielder is already making a strong case for a call-up. Montgomery is slashing .297/.366/.432 with 11 hits and three RBIs, and he’s already notched three multi-hit performances. His early success has White Sox fans buzzing about a potential promotion to the big leagues sooner rather than later.

Montgomery entered the 2026 season ranked No. 24 overall on MLB.com’s Top 100 prospects list and sits as the No. 2 prospect in the White Sox organization, trailing only shortstop Caleb Bonemer. His rapid rise through the system is even more impressive considering he missed a large portion of the 2024 season due to injury. Since returning, he’s dominated at Double-A, earned a quick promotion, and now looks completely comfortable in Triple-A.
