Texas A&M softball is set to make some noise in the postseason, earning the No. 15 national seed and hosting the Bryan-College Station Regional for the 18th time in program history. After a strong regular season that saw the Aggies finish 36-17 overall and 16-8 in SEC play, the team is ready to defend its home turf at Davis Diamond this weekend.

Coming off their first-ever No. 1 seed selection in 2025, the Aggies have proven they belong among the nation's elite. Joining them in the regional are UConn (31-26), McNeese (40-20), and Arizona State (41-16). The Maroon and White will kick things off against the Huskies on Friday at 1 p.m. CT, while McNeese and Arizona State face off at 3:30 p.m. CT. The stakes are high, as Texas A&M is matched up in the bracket against the Austin Regional, setting up a potential Lone Star Showdown super regional with the Longhorns if both teams advance.

Despite a quick exit in the SEC Tournament—an 11-8 loss to a motivated Auburn squad fighting for a regional berth—the Aggies have plenty of momentum. Head coach Trisha Ford's squad boasts 11 ranked wins this season, powered by an electric lineup that ranks 19th nationally with a .340 team batting average heading into the tournament.

All eyes will be on junior Mya Perez, who has established herself as one of the most feared hitters in the country. Perez ranks second nationally and first in the SEC with a .614 on-base percentage, a stat that has led many pitchers to intentionally walk her rather than risk a big hit. She was also the only player on the team to reach base in every game this season. Alongside Kennedy Powell, who also finished in the top 10 in SEC batting average, Perez forms a formidable duo. Together with Micaela Wark, who is tied for third in the SEC with 68 RBIs, the pair has combined for 37 home runs in 2026, putting them in elite company among the league's top hitters.

With a potent offense and the comfort of home field, the Aggies are poised for a deep postseason run. Get ready for an exciting weekend of softball in College Station!
