Texas A&M's recruiting machine is showing no signs of slowing down, and the Aggies are poised to add another elite talent to their already impressive 2027 class. After a recent prediction for five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, all eyes are now on four-star edge rusher Frederick Ards III, who is set to take an official visit to College Station later this month.
Ards, a blue-chip prospect from the 2027 cycle, already has a strong connection with Texas A&M's coaching staff. Defensive line coach Elijah Robinson built a relationship with him during his brief tenure at Syracuse, and that bond has only strengthened since joining the Aggies. With five-star Zyron Forstall and four-star Kaden McCarty already committed, Texas A&M's future edge rotation is shaping up to be something special—but the Aggies aren't done adding talent just yet.
The competition for Ards is fierce, with South Carolina and Alabama also in the mix. Interestingly, Ards' mother is reportedly a fan of both the Gamecocks and the Crimson Tide, adding an extra layer of intrigue to his recruitment. Ards has scheduled his official visit to Texas A&M for May 28-30, before heading to Tuscaloosa for an OV with Alabama in early June. That timing could be crucial, as the Aggies will get the first chance to make a lasting impression.
According to AggieYell insider Joseph Hastings, the momentum is clearly in Texas A&M's favor. "I'm not ready to make a prediction yet, but I think A&M is right there," Hastings said. "If I had to choose today, I'd lean toward the Aggies. His official visit later this month will be a massive one for the program, especially with him moving it up two weeks and it now taking place before the Bama trip."
If recent history is any guide, official visits to Texas A&M tend to end with commitments—especially in the 2027 cycle. As the Aggies continue to build on their recruiting hot streak, don't be surprised if Ards becomes the next big name to join the fold. For fans of the Maroon & White, the future has never looked brighter.
