Texas A&M baseball is heading back to Blue Bell Park with a mix of hope and caution this weekend. The No. 10 Aggies (37-12, 16-10 SEC) are looking to bounce back after dropping their second straight SEC series, this time on the road against Ole Miss—though they did light up the scoreboard with an 18-5 blowout in last Saturday's doubleheader.

Injuries have been the story lately, especially for two standout freshmen infielders. Nico Partida, who has missed the last four games, is now listed as "questionable"—giving him roughly a 50% chance to return. Meanwhile, Boston Kellner is trending in the right direction at "probable" (75% chance to play), after head coach Michael Earley noted the Arizona native has recovered faster than expected. But if Kellner does get the green light, Earley faces a tough lineup decision: senior Ben Royo was simply unstoppable at the plate last weekend, going a perfect 7-for-7 with three home runs.

On the mound, the news is more concerning. Earley revealed Wednesday that sophomore Saturday starter Aiden Sims is dealing with tightness and won't pitch this weekend. The goal is to preserve his health for the postseason push. For now, the only confirmed starter is Ethan Darden, who will take the ball for Thursday's series opener against No. 13 Mississippi State.

With the rotation in flux, the Aggies' pitching could be unpredictable over the three-game set. But getting Partida back in the lineup would be a major boost for a batting order that, while powerful, struggled to deliver clutch hits in Sunday's 6-5 rubber match loss to Ole Miss.

Texas A&M opens its final SEC regular season series against Mississippi State on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. CT. It's a pivotal weekend for seeding, and every healthy bat—and arm—will count.
