Terrell Owens doesn't mince words when it comes to his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. The Hall of Fame wide receiver, known for his electrifying play and larger-than-life personality, spent three seasons in Dallas from 2006 to 2008. During that time, he put up impressive numbers—3,587 receiving yards and a First Team All-Pro nod in 2007—but his tenure ended on a sour note.
In a recent interview with Action Network's Kyle Odegard, Owens made his feelings crystal clear. "I couldn't care less about Jerry Jones," he said. "I don't concern myself with the Cowboys. The Cowboys haven't concerned themselves with me since I left there. That's speaking of Jerry Jones or anybody really from that organization."
The friction isn't hard to trace. Owens was surprisingly released by the Cowboys in 2009, a move that blindsided him. He's previously claimed that Jones assured him he wouldn't be going anywhere, only to cut ties abruptly. For a player who racked up 1,078 catches, 15,934 yards, and 153 touchdowns over his career, being let go in such a manner left a lasting sting.
"The way things ended there with the Cowboys, I couldn't care less," Owens added. "I have nothing to say about them." If there was any doubt about where Owens stands with his former franchise, he's now made it perfectly clear. For fans of the game, it's a reminder that even the most legendary careers can leave behind unresolved tensions—and that some rivalries never truly fade.
