PLATTSBURGH — The chill in the air couldn't cool the action on the track as Thursday Night Thunder roared back to life at Airborne Park Speedway. Fans bundled up for A-Verdi Storage Night and were rewarded with edge-of-your-seat racing from start to finish.

The headlining 30-lap DirtCar 358 Modifieds feature set the tone early. Carey Terrance, fresh off a dominant heat race, picked up right where he left off. Jumping to the lead from the green flag, Terrance looked untouchable as Dany Gagne slipped past Mike Mahaney but couldn't close the gap.

Then came the drama. Back-to-back cautions on lap 14 bunched the field, and Felix Roy seized the moment. In a bold move, Roy swept past both Mahaney and Gagne in one motion, setting his sights on Terrance. The chase was on, with Terrance hugging the high line while Roy worked the bottom groove.

With just four laps to go, Terrance bobbled exiting turn two, his car slipping out of the preferred groove. Roy pounced, pulling to Terrance's rear bumper. For two tense laps, Roy tried everything to make the pass, but Terrance held firm. Roy's last-ditch effort off turn four on the final lap came up just short, as Terrance escaped with the win. Roy settled for second, followed by Mahaney, Gagne, and Tim Fuller.

The J&S Steel feature was all about Shane Pecore, who made it two wins in a row to start the season. Starting second, the Cornwall, Ontario driver watched Codie Aubin lead the first seven laps. But Pecore had a plan, and on lap eight, he swept around both Aubin and Joey Scarborough on the high side. From there, he built a comfortable lead, cruising to the checkers ahead of Scarborough, Cory Castell, Aubin, and Nick Heywood.

In the Rain Pro of Vermont Limited Sportsman division, David Johnson continued his winning ways. After taking the opening night feature in April, Johnson chased down early leader Gary English to go back-to-back. English had dominated the first 11 laps and looked poised to run away with it, but Johnson bided his time. A brief challenge from Boomer Patterson at halfway kept things interesting, but when the caution flew with nine laps remaining, Johnson was ready to strike. He made his move and never looked back, collecting another victory and proving that consistency is key in the early season.
