Mother Nature had other plans for Friday night's SEC showdown between Tennessee and Oklahoma. Game 2 of the series at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark was suspended due to lightning in the Oklahoma City area, with the Volunteers leading 5-3 in the seventh inning.

The Vols (36-18, 14-14 SEC) were in control, but the Sooners (31-19, 13-15 SEC) had a runner on first with one out when play was halted. The game will resume at 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, with Game 3—a full nine-inning contest—set to follow approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended action.

Oklahoma came out swinging, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run homer from Camden Johnson. But Tennessee answered in a big way in the third, plating four runs. Manny Marin sparked the rally with an RBI triple, Jay Abernathy Jr. followed with a run-scoring single, and Trent Grindlinger delivered a two-run single to put the Vols ahead.

Tennessee added an insurance run in the fifth when Henry Ford reached on an error, allowing Blake Grimmer to score. With the Vols' bullpen ready and the offense finding its rhythm, all eyes will be on Oklahoma City as this SEC battle resumes. Grab your Vols gear and get ready for a doubleheader that promises plenty of drama.
