Tennessee baseball signee Michael Teasley continues to shine on the diamond, recording two hits in a dominant 15-1 victory for Oak Ridge High School over Dobyns-Bennett in a TSSAA Class 4A state sectional game Wednesday at Bobby Hopkins Field.
The future Volunteer went 2-for-3 at the plate, showcasing his all-around skills with a double, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Teasley, a senior pitcher and third baseman for the Wildcats, has been a standout throughout his high school career and is now one step closer to donning the orange and white.
Teasley officially signed with Tennessee on January 28, following his commitment to the Vols on October 20, 2024. His talent hasn't gone unnoticed—he was named District 4-4A Pitcher of the Year by league coaches and earned First-Team All-District honors. Adding to his accolades, Teasley was recognized as the 2025 Tennessee Mr. Baseball and is a finalist for the award in 2026.
The Wildcats have leaned heavily on Teasley's leadership, as he has helped guide them to consecutive appearances in the TSSAA Class 4A state tournament. His junior season was equally impressive, earning him District 3-4A Player of the Year and All-State honors from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
Oak Ridge now turns its attention to Game 2 of the best-of-three state sectional series, facing Dobyns-Bennett again on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EDT, with the Wildcats looking to clinch the series and keep their championship hopes alive.
