AC Milan's director of sport Igli Tare has laid it all on the line, admitting that the team's recent performances have fallen short of the mark. "There's no point denying it—the right attention has been lacking," Tare told DAZN Italia, as the Rossoneri face a crucial turning point in their season.

The frustration reached a boiling point during Milan's 3-2 loss to Atalanta at San Siro. Fans stormed out after just 52 minutes, with the score already 3-0 thanks to goals from Ederson, Davide Zappacosta, and Giacomo Raspadori. Rafael Leao, once a fan favorite, was met with jeers as the atmosphere turned toxic. A late fightback—featuring a header from Strahinja Pavlovic and a Christopher Nkunku penalty—narrowed the gap to 3-2, but the damage was done. Many in the Curva Sud had already walked out, a powerful statement of discontent.

With morale low and whispers of a training retreat before the upcoming Genoa clash, Tare didn't shy away from accountability. "Seeing the recent games, the right attention has been lacking. We must all take our share of the responsibility," he said. "The fans deserve a different team, but the only positive is that our destiny is still in our hands. We'll try to take the good last half-hour and build on that, analyze everything from the last six or seven weeks, and concentrate to achieve this important target."

It's a stark contrast to the team's strong form for the first 10 months of the season, which has unraveled in the past month and a half. Tare and head coach Max Allegri, who arrived just a year ago, are already facing speculation about their futures, with reports suggesting the club may be scouting replacements. But Tare remains focused: "I have received no signals from the club. I am totally concentrated on my work. If we achieve the target we set at the start of the season, then we'll have done well. All the rest—the speculation and pressure—that's part of the job."

For Milan fans, the next match against Genoa isn't just about points—it's about pride, attitude, and proving that this team still has the fight to wear the iconic red and black with honor. Will the Rossoneri rally, or will this season's promise slip away? The answer starts on the pitch.
