After tonight's narrow semi-final first-leg loss to PSG in the French capital, Jonathan Tah was left bewildered by some refereeing calls, but praised his team for staying in the fight.

“I'm proud of how we dealt with setbacks, including difficult refereeing decisions. I wasn't entirely sure about the penalty; I'll have to watch it again,” he told Prime Video after the game.

“Okay, we had one or two minor fouls that I didn't quite understand. But in the end, I say yes, we handled it well because we don't let things like that stop us,” he added.

Regarding the game itself, which swung over and back before ending 5-4 to the Parisians, the 30-year-old felt his side did well and their overall performance was strong.

"Yes, it was a very, very intense game. Despite the loss, I think we really showed in many phases today what kind of team we are.

“I think the staff handled it well. I think they communicated a lot beforehand. In the end, we're the ones who have to perform on the pitch, even if the coach isn't there,” Tah said, alluding to Vincent Kompany's suspension.

“I think you could really see that we can score a lot of goals. And that's why we're going into this second leg at the Allianz Arena with full confidence, giving it our all and aiming for the final,” he concluded.
