Michigan State women's basketball continues to build momentum this offseason, securing a significant commitment from the transfer portal. Forward Tabitha Betson, a standout from the University of Colorado, has announced she will join the Spartans for the 2026-27 campaign.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the 6-foot-2 Betson brings valuable experience and a versatile skill set to East Lansing. As a sophomore for the Buffaloes, she started 16 games, contributing to a 22-12 season and an NCAA tournament berth. Her stats—averaging 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds—only tell part of the story; Betson is a modern forward who isn't afraid to stretch the floor, attempting over half of her shots from three-point range and connecting at a 33.9% clip last season.

Her pedigree is impressive. A top-50 national recruit in the 2024 class, Betson made an immediate impact with 13 starts as a true freshman at Colorado. Her commitment signals head coach Robyn Fralick's intent to add proven, high-ceiling talent to the roster.

Betson is the latest in a series of key pickups for the Spartans, following the recent addition of 2025 Michigan Miss Basketball winner Anna Wypych. This influx of talent promises to elevate the team's competitiveness in the rugged Big Ten conference, giving Spartan fans plenty to look forward to in the seasons ahead.
