The Syracuse Orange football program is already building for the future, securing two key defensive commitments for the 2027 class. While spring practice may be over, head coach Fran Brown's recruiting efforts are in full swing, adding promising young talent to the roster.

The first new addition is Ian McDuffie, a versatile 6'2" athlete from Patterson, New Jersey. Currently playing both linebacker and wide receiver for Passaic Tech, McDuffie chose Syracuse over offers from UConn and Temple. The Orange staff is reportedly eyeing him to bolster their linebacker corps, adding athleticism and size to the defensive front seven.

Joining him is Bradyn Paulozzi, a 6'3", 230-pound edge rusher from the storied St. Edward program in Lakewood, Ohio. Paulozzi brings a formidable frame and a proven track record of generating pressure, having held offers from several service academies and Mid-American Conference programs. His commitment is a significant win for defensive coach Vince Kehres, who initially offered him at Toledo and successfully recruited him to Syracuse.

These two pickups highlight the coaching staff's focus on building a strong, physical defense for years to come. With these latest pledges, the Orange now have ten total commitments for the 2027 cycle, signaling strong momentum on the recruiting trail as they shape the next generation of Syracuse football.
