It's been a whirlwind offseason for Syracuse Orange men's basketball, with a coaching change and a massive roster overhaul creating a new era for the program. To help you keep track of all the moves, we've compiled the key dates and a current roster tracker. Stay locked in here for real-time updates as the new-look Orange takes shape.

The new chapter officially began on March 24, 2026, when Gerry McNamara was officially named the program's ninth head coach. The excitement was palpable just days later on March 30th, as Syracuse ushered in the "McNamERA" with a pep-rally introduction on Miron Victory Court.

However, with a coaching transition comes inevitable roster movement. The transfer portal announcements started rolling in, beginning with redshirt freshman Aaron Womack on March 31st. The exodus continued through early April, seeing key players like freshman center Tieffing Diawara (April 2nd), sophomore forward Tyler Betsey (April 3rd), and starting point guard Naithan George (April 4th) announce their departures.

As the portal's official opening on April 7th neared, Coach McNamara solidified his staff, naming Ryan Daly, Ben Lee, and Arinze Onuaku as assistant coaches on April 6th. That same day, the Orange secured a major win with a commitment from top Slovenia prospect Mark Morano Mahmutovič.

The floodgates opened on April 7th. While Syracuse welcomed home Siena transfer Gavin Doty, they also saw significant outgoing talent, including top scorer and rebounder Donnie Freeman, Australian point guard Luke Fennell, and backup big man Akir Souare all entering the portal. The staff continued to grow the next day, April 8th, with the addition of Jamal Brunt to McNamara's coaching team.

This timeline is a testament to the fast-paced nature of modern college basketball. As the Orange rebuilds under Coach McNamara, every commitment and roster move is a crucial piece of the puzzle for the upcoming season. We'll continue to update this tracker, so check back often for the latest on your Syracuse Orange.
