Sutton's predictions v Blossoms & Songer

Chris Sutton takes on indie band Blossoms and rapper Songer plus the BBC readers and AI with his predictions for the FA Cup final and this weekend's Premier League fixtures.

The stage is set for the 145th FA Cup final at Wembley this Saturday, and the big question is whether Manchester City or Chris Sutton's former club Chelsea will lift the iconic trophy. For Chelsea, it's a chance to break a drought—they haven't beaten City in any of their last 13 meetings. But their last victory over Pep Guardiola's squad was no small feat: the 2021 Champions League final. Sutton, a BBC Sport pundit, recalls being there that day. "Pep didn't get the better of Thomas Tuchel then," he says, adding with a grin, "He's not going to be schooled by Calum McFarlane either."

Sutton isn't just focusing on the final. He's also predicting every single Premier League game this season—all 380 of them—going head-to-head with AI, BBC Sport readers, and a rotating cast of guests. This weekend, he's got two Manchester City fans on his side: Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan from the indie band Blossoms, who are fresh off their 2024 UK number one album, Gary, and just dropped a new single, "Joke About Divorce." Representing Chelsea is rapper Songer, whose latest track, "Find My Face," is out now, along with news of his sixth studio album, What If I Say No?, dropping in July.

Songer, a lifelong Chelsea supporter, isn't shy about the tension surrounding the club. Some fans are planning to protest against owners BlueCo at Wembley before the final, and Songer gets it. "I've been disillusioned with BlueCo from the very start," he shares. "It's been like watching a circus, and it's infuriating for fans to be dragged into it. Our club shouldn't be guinea pigs for their pet project."
