Super Bowl LXI is set to make history with not one, but two distinct Spanish-language broadcasts, marking a major win for Hispanic NFL fans and a lucrative play for Disney. The 2027 championship game will air on Disney's own ESPN Deportes, while a separate, independently produced telecast will be sublicensed to TelevisaUnivision's Univision in the United States.

This dual-language approach means viewers will get two unique viewing experiences, each with its own dedicated commentary team and production style. The English-language version, meanwhile, will be available across ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC, ensuring fans have more ways than ever to catch the action.

For Disney, the move is a smart financial play, maximizing the value of its Super Bowl rights by tapping into the passionate and growing Hispanic audience. "We're pleased to collaborate with TelevisaUnivision to expand access to Super Bowl LXI for Spanish-speaking fans across the U.S.," said Oscar Ramos, vice president of digital content and ESPN Deportes. "ESPN Deportes has a long history of serving NFL fans in the Hispanic community, and presenting Super Bowl LXI through multiple Spanish-language telecasts builds on that commitment."

This isn't Univision's first rodeo with the Big Game. The network previously aired a Spanish-language version of Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, selling its own ad inventory separately from that year's English-language rightsholder, CBS. The success of that broadcast likely paved the way for this expanded partnership.

"Hispanic audiences bring an unmatched energy and passion to the sports they love, and their fandom for the NFL has grown significantly," said Olek Loewenstein, president of sports at TelevisaUnivision. "We're excited to be teaming up with ESPN to deliver the Super Bowl to Hispanic America — elevating the viewing experience with coverage that connects, in-culture and in-language."

For fans gearing up for game day, this means more options to enjoy the biggest event on the sports calendar in the way that feels most authentic to them. Whether you're tuning in for the game, the halftime show, or the commercials, Super Bowl LXI is shaping up to be a celebration of football that truly speaks to everyone.
