The South Walton baseball team captured the Class 3A state championship in dramatic fashion, closing out a perfect 9-0 postseason run with a walk-off suicide squeeze bunt by Hudson Quinn. The championship moment came in a tense final game, where Quinn's perfectly executed bunt brought home the winning run and sparked a wild celebration on the diamond.

Pitcher Coleman Borthwick was the star on the mound, delivering a masterful performance that kept the opposing hitters off balance all game. His command and poise under pressure were key to South Walton's ability to stay in the contest and set up the late-inning heroics. The defense behind him also stepped up, with key plays from infielders Parker Granse and Noah Coleman, as well as outfielder Nathan Whitney, who tracked down several tough balls in the outfield.

The game was a pitcher's duel from the start, with both teams getting solid efforts from their starters. Niceville's Ethan Thomas matched Borthwick for much of the game, working out of jams and keeping the South Walton bats quiet. But in the end, it was the Seahawks who found a way to scratch across the decisive run when it mattered most.

Head coach Nick Borthwick praised his team's resilience and focus throughout the postseason, noting that the perfect 9-0 record in the playoffs was a testament to their preparation and determination. "These guys never wavered," he said. "They believed in each other and executed when it counted."

The championship is a historic achievement for the South Walton program, which has been building toward this moment over the past several seasons. For the players, the walk-off squeeze will be a memory they carry with them forever—a perfect ending to a perfect playoff run.
