You can follow along here for updates and a transcript of the Detroit Red Wings' season-ending news conference with general manager Steve Yzerman and coach Todd McLellan.
They will meet the media on Thursday in the Meijer Media Room at Little Caesars Arena at 11 a.m.
To put the Red Wings' 2025-2026 collapse in perspective, Detroit is only the second NHL team in league history to record 69 points in the first 53 games and not make the playoffs.
The other team was the Montreal Canadiens in 1969-70. Montreal also had 69 points after 53 games and finished fifth and out of the playoffs in the Original Six days.

The Canadiens though bounced back and won the Cup in 1971 behind the rookie goaltending of Ken Dryden, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
What are the odds of the Red Wings winning the team's 12th Stanley Cup next year behind the rookie goaltending of Sebastian Cossa or veteran goaltending of John Gibson or Cam Talbot?
Officially, the 2027 playoff odds aren't out now with round one of the 2026 playoffs just underway.
