Stephen Curry is taking his commitment to education and community to the next level. The Golden State Warriors superstar has officially launched a full scholarship program at his alma mater, Davidson College, aimed at empowering underserved youth from the Bay Area.

Curry, who played for Davidson from 2006 to 2009 and remains the Wildcats' all-time leading scorer, left college early to pursue his NBA dreams. He was drafted by the Warriors in 2009 and went on to become a four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP. But in 2022, he made a powerful statement by returning to Davidson to complete his bachelor's degree in sociology—a move that underscored his belief in the value of education.

Now, he's creating that same opportunity for others. The Davidson College Curry Scholars Program will provide full, individualized college and career coaching to high-achieving high school students from under-resourced communities in the Bay Area. The program is a partnership between Davidson College, the Oakland Unified School District, and the nonprofit College Track.

"Ayesha and I started our foundation in Oakland seven years ago with the vision of making sure every kid has access to the opportunity and support they deserve," Curry said in an announcement video. "Davidson is really pumped up to be working with high school students in the Bay Area and our friends at College Track to help talented and dedicated students from the Bay Area go to Davidson."

Curry's connection to Davidson runs deep, and he wants to share that transformative experience with the next generation. "Davidson College is part of who I am—not just as an athlete, but as a family member, a leader, and as someone who cares deeply about this community. I want you to have the opportunity for the same kind of life-changing experience that I had," he added.

The first class of Curry Scholars will be the high school graduating class of 2027, enrolling at Davidson College in August 2027. Applications and financial aid information must be submitted by Monday, September 21, with an in-person selection process scheduled for Tuesday, October 20.

For young athletes and scholars who dream big—both on and off the court—this scholarship is a game-changer. And for fans of Curry's journey, it's another reminder that his impact extends far beyond the three-point line.
