The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially locked in their surprise first-round pick, signing offensive tackle Max Iheanachor to a fully guaranteed rookie contract. The deal, finalized on May 15, is a four-year agreement worth $20.69 million, featuring an $11.598 million signing bonus and a fifth-year club option.

Iheanachor, selected 21st overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, wasn't on many draft analysts' radar as a first-round lock. However, the Steelers saw something special in the Arizona State product, and this contract shows they're all-in on his potential. At 6-foot-6 and 321 pounds, he brings the imposing size Pittsburgh traditionally values on the offensive line—a key piece as the team reshapes its offense under head coach Mike McCarthy.

This investment underscores the Steelers' commitment to building from the trenches. While Iheanachor may have been a surprise pick to outsiders, Pittsburgh's front office clearly believes he can develop into a long-term anchor up front. Now, the rookie has every opportunity to prove he belongs, starting with training camp later this summer.
