The Pittsburgh Steelers started off the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft with a bang by selecting Penn State quarterback Drew Allar. This was the first of Steelers three third-round choices and the team followed the Allar pick up with Georgia cornerback Daylen Everett.
Everett looks like how you would build a cornerback in a lab. 6-foot-1 and a muscular 196 pounds, Everett ran a blazing 4.38-second 40-yard dash along with a 37.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot-4 broad jump.
The problem is Everett is a very raw player in terms of his technique and when he gets beat, struggles to get back on track. He does better up around the line of scrimmage when his decision-making window is smaller. Some of Everett's worst games came on the biggest stages and this is why he slid. We had a fourth-round grade on him so we view this as something of a reach.
