Early Monday morning, ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Broderick Jones suffered a setback in his recovery from a neck injury, putting his start of the 2026 NFL regular season in jeopardy. This, just days away from the 2026 NFL Draft, could be disastrous.

But later that same day, Steelers General Manager Omar Khan had his pre-draft press conference where he refuted the claim by Schefter and Jones' recovery.

“Nothing has changed, still working to get back to where he needs to be,” Khan said. “No new information from when we last spoke in March.”

McCarthy followed that with a brief update on Jones' status during offseason workouts.

“He’s in the medical group, a number of guys are in that group,” McCarthy said. “We are just trying to establish a common language. We went over the fundamentals of football today, they haven’t changed. We are just taking the steps of starting from the beginning and he has participated.”
