The bad news keeps coming for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft this week. First, we get a report that free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not make a decision about signing with the team prior to the start of the draft, leaving the Steelers in quarterback limbo. Now, according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, starting left tackle Broderick Jones suffered a setback in his recovery from a neck injury he suffered last season. This mean Jones could miss training camp as well as the start of the regular season.
Jones suffered a neck injury back in November of last season against the Chicago Bears. Jones was having his best season as a pro and seemed to finally be settled in after the position change. This injury setback throws a wrench in the works for the Steelers and the NFL draft. Pittsburgh already needs a starting left guard but now much give serious consideration to drafting an offensive tackle as well to replace Jones in the lineup.

The Steelers selected Jones in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Jones played right tackle for his first two seasons and switched to the left in 2025. This is the final year of Jones' rookie contract and he's set to hit free agency at the end of the season.
