Mike Tomlin's football journey has its next destination.
It won't be on a sideline, though, after leaving his two-decade gig as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach.
According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Tomlin is going to sign with NBC to be a part of their pregame show for Sunday Night Football.
Tomlin will be a studio analyst for that show, "Football Night in America," which notably parted ways with Tony Dungey recently.
"Tomlin, 54, has been eyed by sports TV executives for more than a decade because of his success as a Super Bowl-winning Steelers coach, his knowledge of the game and his unique phraseology," Marchand writes.
Marchand adds that Fox had interest in Tomlin, too.
"NBC had the biggest need for his services," Marchand writes. "... The roles of Rodney Harrison, Jac Collinsworth and Chris Simms are also in question as the network attempts to have more current star power and fewer people on the show."

Tomlin will be a part of the pregame show which is hosted by Maria Taylor and also includes Jason Garrett and Devin McCourty.
NBC's pregame show leads the network pregame shows in ratings, in part because of its primetime slot. It does mean plenty of eyes will be on the TV version of Tomlin from the very beginning.
Marchand also notes that NBC may send its pregame show fully on the road for the 2026 season.
Whatever they do, Tomlin appears set to embrace his new gig. He coached the Steelers for 19 seasons but stepped down after their playoff loss early in 2026. It was time for something new, and Tomlin has now found it.
