The San Antonio Spurs are back in the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2017, and they owe a huge debt of gratitude to their rising superstar, Victor Wembanyama. In just three years of development, the young phenom has already propelled his team to the brink of championship glory. But it's not just the Spurs' return to prominence that has the basketball world buzzing—it's the historic stat line Wembanyama has posted that should send shivers down the spine of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Wembanyama has become only the second player in NBA Playoffs history to record 200+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 40+ blocks in his first 10 postseason games, according to ESPN Insights. The only other player to achieve this remarkable feat? Spurs legend David Robinson, who did so at age 24 during the 1990 NBA Playoffs. Unfortunately, Robinson's postseason run was cut short after just 10 games. Wembanyama, however, is writing a very different story.

In the Spurs' dominant 139-109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves—a team led by Anthony Edwards and aiming for a third straight Western Conference Finals appearance—Wembanyama was unstoppable. For the playoffs, he's averaging 20.3 points on an incredible 59.2% effective field goal percentage, while pulling down 10.7 rebounds per game. Most impressively, he leads all players with a staggering 4.1 blocks per game. Simply put, he's playing out of his mind.

For the Thunder, the matchup is daunting. Though battle-tested, Oklahoma City lost the season series 3-1 to the Spurs. In their lone win on Christmas Day, Wembanyama was even benched. With the rookie sensation now firing on all cylinders, the Thunder have every reason to be afraid of what's coming next.
