In a move that has sent ripples through the Ohio high school basketball community, West Senators head boys basketball coach Caleb McClanahan has announced his resignation, effective Wednesday. The news was confirmed by McClanahan’s family via social media and in direct communication with the Daily Times.

McClanahan, who took the helm in the 2020-21 season, leaves behind a transformed program. Under his leadership, the Senators saw a remarkable turnaround, jumping from a 12-12 overall record in the 2024-25 season to an impressive 19-7 mark in 2025-26. The Senators’ late-season surge was nothing short of spectacular. They rattled off 11 consecutive victories, powering through to the OHSAA Division VI, Region 23 Finals.
