On a night where the Braves finally tamed Dodger Stadium, Spencer Strider delivered a masterclass performance that had fans buzzing about what this team could achieve in 2025. The right-hander spun six nearly flawless shutout innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out eight. His slider was absolutely devastating, generating a staggering 64% whiff rate, and his fastball had Shohei Ohtani completely off balance. After a rough debut at Coors Field last week, this was Strider at his absolute best—arguably the most dominant we've seen him in over two years.

If this outing is any indication of what's to come, the Braves' ceiling just got a whole lot higher. All eyes will be on his next start, likely against the Red Sox at Truist Park next weekend, to see if he can build on this momentum.

While Strider was locking things down on the mound, the Braves' offense did just enough early to give him all the support he needed. They didn't exactly light up Dodgers starter Blake Snell, but they found gaps and scratched across five runs in the first two innings. After loading the bases with no outs in the first and only managing one run—a frustrating echo of Friday night's struggles—they broke through in a big way in the second. Ozzie Albies delivered a two-run single, and Matt Olson followed with another two-run single to make it 5-0.

The Braves kept the pressure on in the fifth when Michael Harris doubled to score a hustling Austin Riley, and Drake Baldwin added an insurance run with a two-out single in the eighth to push the lead to 7-0. Dylan Lee worked a clean seventh inning before handing the ball to Reynaldo Lopez, who allowed a harmless two-run homer in the ninth to finally get the Dodgers on the board.

The series wraps up Sunday afternoon with Bryce Elder taking on lefty Justin Wrobleski for the Dodgers. Wrobleski enters with a perfect 5-0 record and a 1.25 ERA that's due for some regression. First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. ET.
