TORRANCE, CA – The Sparks reiterated on Media Day on what we already all know.

The Los Angeles Sparks are sending a clear message this season: they're ready to take it to the next level. At Media Day in Torrance, California, the team didn't just talk about hope—they showcased a renewed sense of purpose, all while sporting the retro jerseys that helped define a revolutionary era in women's basketball.

For a franchise that hasn't seen playoff action since the 2020 "Wubble" season, the Sparks are eager to turn the page. Guard Kelsey Plum, entering her 10th season, summed up the team's mindset perfectly: "I think our depth and our talent is immense this year, and the mission is very clear from everyone on this team. It's been great to jump into training camp. I'm very excited about the hunger and the sense of urgency that we have—and we want to win now."

That ambition isn't just coming from the players. General Manager Raegan Pebley has been deliberate in assembling a roster built for championship contention. "We assembled this team to put ourselves in a position that we believe would commit to the process and has the capacity to go to the championship," Pebley explained. "What you know in sports is that you have to surrender to that result. You have to commit to a process. There are so many things that can happen during the course of the season, but what I love about this group is we have a lot of people who have won a championship, who know what it takes to win."

Pebley emphasized that the team's blend of experience and youth is key. "They understand the on-court elements required to do that, as well as the preparation you have to do off the court. They understand how to eliminate distractions and how a tiny little thread, when you start pulling at it, can become a really big distraction. A lot of that comes with experience," she said. "We have an experienced veteran group, but we also have some young pieces that have a chance to continue to grow and learn from that group. I'm really looking forward to this season—I've felt encouraged thus far with the chemistry of this team."

Head coach Lynne Roberts is equally optimistic about the balance Pebley has struck. "She and her team did a really good job in free agency," Roberts noted. "But you don't want to be too heavy one way—too many vets, not enough youth, or too much youth, not enough vets. I think we have a great balance."

With a mix of championship pedigree, hungry young talent, and a unified vision, the Sparks are poised to reignite their legacy. For fans and players alike, this season feels like the start of something special—and the journey to that elusive title is just beginning.
