Juventus may be on the verge of securing manager Luciano Spalletti's future, but one club legend believes that's just the first step in a much larger rebuild. Former Bianconeri winger Massimo Mauro has issued a stark warning: to truly compete for Serie A and Champions League glory next season, the Old Lady needs to make four major signings.

Currently locked in a tense battle for a top-four finish, Juventus find themselves in fifth place, trailing Como by a single point. With Como holding the head-to-head advantage, the race for Champions League football is going down to the wire. Regardless of the European outcome, the club's commitment to Spalletti appears firm, with a contract extension reportedly imminent.

However, Mauro argues that managerial stability alone won't return Juventus to the pinnacle of European football. In a candid interview with Gazzetta, he emphasized that even a coach of Spalletti's caliber needs a squad built to win. "Spalletti isn't a magician," Mauro stated. "He needs players of the right level to compete for the title and the Champions League, because that’s what Juventus are expected to do."

Mauro, who understands the pressures of wearing the famous black and white stripes, laid out a clear blueprint for the summer transfer window. He believes the club's sporting directors must deliver four "top-class" additions: an international-level goalkeeper, a dominant defender, a creative midfielder, and a prolific centre-forward. He pointed to Spalletti's successful tenure at Napoli as the model, where signings like Kim Min-jae, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and Victor Osimhen formed the championship-winning backbone of the team.

"He must do what he managed at Napoli," Mauro explained. "Create the awareness of being strong and prove it humbly, game after game." He suggested the demanding environment at Juventus could actually foster this mentality, but only if the right pieces are added to the puzzle. For fans dreaming of a return to the club's dominant days, Mauro's message is clear: the extension of Spalletti is the foundation, but a transformative summer in the transfer market is the essential next chapter.
