Here's a look at the opening week of action for Whaling City Youth Baseball for the 2026 season.

The crack of bats and cheers from the stands marked a thrilling return to Brooklawn Park as the Whaling City Youth Baseball League officially launched its 2026 season. Opening Day ceremonies took place Sunday, May 3, setting the stage for an action-packed first week of youth baseball that showcased emerging talent and fierce competition across the SouthCoast.

In a performance that set the tone for the season, Ben Bernardo delivered a memorable no-hitter to lead Amaral's Linguica to a 3-1 victory over Apex. Making his final campaign one to remember, Bernardo also shined at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored—proving he's a force on both sides of the game.

Wonder Bowl's offense exploded in a 16-4 rout of NB Fire, powered by Jayce Nova's 3-for-3 performance that included a home run. Jheyden Rodrigues also went 3-for-3, while Nyzaiah Caban chipped in two hits. The lineup depth was on full display as Amari Azor, Colin Keagan, Anthony Torres, Leo Kelly, and Kheyden Rodrigues each added a base hit to the offensive showcase.

Tony's Auto edged Table 8 with a 9-3 win, fueled by Ayla Soares' perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate. Derek Dallaire and Bobby Seamans contributed hits and combined for an impressive pitching performance, allowing just three runs on three hits while striking out 15 batters. Isaac DaSilva led Table 8 with two hits, and Logan Cutler added one.

Dave's dominated Palace Pizza with a 12-0 shutout, as Ben Pimental, Christian Vaz, and Javriel Francis each collected two hits to pace the offense. Conor Santos and Miguel Selvina added one hit apiece, while Kameron Uzzell and Max Arunsi recorded hits for Palace Pizza in a tough loss.

One of the week's most thrilling contests came in a 4-3 nail-biter between Kitchens & Baths and ACG. ACG jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a Lincoln Oliveira single, but K&B answered immediately with three runs of their own in the bottom half, sparked by two walks and an RBI single from Jameson Silva. The game featured stellar pitching on both sides: ACG's Landon Amaral and Ethan Gonsalves combined for 12 strikeouts while scattering six hits. But it was K&B's James Reardon who stole the show, tossing a complete game with no earned runs allowed on just three hits and 11 strikeouts. Reardon also delivered the game-winning blow—a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning that proved to be the difference.

In the final matchup of the opening week, Tremblay's Bus rolled to a 10-3 victory over Lebeaus behind strong pitching and timely hitting. Nate Martinez earned the win with two scoreless innings on the mound, while Jayce Goncalves and Liam Cormier provided effective relief. Martinez also made his presence felt at the plate, going 3-for-3 to lead the offensive charge.

With Opening Week in the books, the Whaling City Youth Baseball League has already delivered memorable moments, standout performances, and a glimpse of the exciting season ahead. Whether you're cheering from the stands or gearing up for your own games, there's no better time to celebrate the spirit of youth baseball on the SouthCoast.
