The high school softball season is heating up, and after one of the most thrilling weeks of action yet, we're back with an updated look at the top teams in South Jersey. From dominant pitching streaks to nail-biting extra-inning battles, here's your latest Mean 15 rankings—perfect for keeping tabs on the squads that are making headlines on and off the diamond.

1. Northern Burlington (18-2, last week: 1)
The Greyhounds saw their impressive 18-game winning streak snapped in a 4-0 loss to Robbinsville on May 12, but they remain atop the rankings. With 155 runs scored this season (averaging 7.5 per game), Haley MacArthur (22 runs) and Riley Pieloch (21) have been key catalysts. All eyes are on tonight's prime-time showdown at Bordentown.

2. Gloucester (17-1, last week: 3)
The Lions are roaring again, riding a nine-game winning streak that has them knocking on the door of the top spot. Senior pitcher Emma Dick has been untouchable, tossing four shutouts in her last five starts and allowing just one earned run over her last 37 innings. Her ERA has dropped to a microscopic 0.78.

3. Cherokee (16-4, last week: 5)
Eleven straight wins have vaulted the Chiefs up two spots. The senior duo of Allie Cunane and Cali Taylor has been a force in the circle, combining for 219 strikeouts in 130 innings with a stellar 1.29 ERA. This is a team peaking at the right time.

4. St. Joseph Academy (20-3, last week: 6)
The Wildcats have reached the 20-win mark for the third time in four seasons, and they're doing it in style. After an 8-7 extra-inning thriller over Vineland in the Cape-Atlantic League Tournament semifinals on May 13, they've improved to 3-1 against their rivals this year. Senior Isabella Ramos is hitting .377 with 30 runs scored, providing consistent leadership.

5. Vineland (14-7, last week: 4)
The Fighting Clan have gone 6-2 in their last eight games, with both losses coming by a combined three runs to tough opponents Cedar Creek and St. Joseph. Senior Beatrice Sotomayor has been a powerhouse, slugging a team-best six home runs while also swiping 18 bases (tied for the team lead).

6. Kingsway (15-5, last week: 2)
The Dragons hit a rough patch, dropping consecutive games to Colonial Conference foes Gloucester and Haddon Heights. But freshman pitcher Sydney Schiavone remains a bright spot, having struck out 110 batters in 51 innings with a 2.05 ERA. Expect a bounce-back performance.

7. Ocean City (18-5, last week: 7)
The Red Raiders rebounded from a 14-4 loss to Southern with an emphatic 8-1 victory at Bordentown on May 12. Next up: a home matchup against Hammonton in the Cape-Atlantic League Tournament semifinals this afternoon. Keep an eye on sophomore Leah Catto, who continues to make an impact.

Whether you're cheering from the stands or gearing up for your own games, these teams are proving that South Jersey softball is as competitive as ever. Stay tuned for more updates as the postseason approaches!
