The race for South Jersey softball supremacy just got a whole lot more interesting. A new week brings a new leader to the top of our latest Mean 15 rankings, shaking up the standings as we head into the heart of the season. Let's dive into the teams making waves and setting the standard for excellence on the diamond.

Claiming the top spot this week are the Gloucester Lions (4-0), who move up from #2. They extended their incredible winning streak to 15 games, dating back to last season, with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Williamstown. Senior standout Gabbie Maldonado has been a catalyst, leading the team with a scorching .533 batting average.

Right on their heels are the undefeated St. Joseph Academy Wildcats (10-0), climbing to #2. They showed serious grit with a dramatic 5-3 win over Vineland, plating two runs in the final inning. Their offense has been nothing short of explosive, racking up 103 runs in just 10 games, powered by the speed of Alaina Dorsey and Isabella Ramos.

Making a massive leap to #3 are the Northern Burlington Greyhounds (9-1). They announced themselves as true contenders by winning the competitive Rancocas Valley Elite Tournament, which included dethroning the then-#1 Cherokee Chiefs in a championship game thriller. Pitcher Emily Shiner was dominant, tossing a 13-strikeout, one-hit shutout to seal the title.

The Rancocas Valley Red Devils (7-2) hold steady at #4, showing resilience after their tournament final loss. They bounced back with key wins over Lenape and Cherokee, proving their power-hitting lineup is a constant threat. The duo of Ava Sweet and Brielle Bozarth has combined for nine of the team's 12 home runs.

After facing a tough stretch, the Cherokee Chiefs (5-3) find themselves at #5. All three of their losses have been agonizingly close, each by a single run to top-tier opponents. The offense remains potent, with Allie Cunnane and Luci Dandrea each driving in 15 runs to keep the Chiefs in every contest.

The Ocean City Red Raiders (8-2) are one of the hottest teams around, surging to #6 on a four-game win streak. Sophomore sensation Leah Catto is putting together a phenomenal season, leading her team in average (.581), runs (21), and doubles (7), making her a nightmare for opposing pitchers.

Rounding out this week's look at the top tier are the Kingsway Dragons (8-2) at #7. They continue to build momentum with consistent performances, securing wins against tough competition like Clearview and Washington Township to solidify their place among South Jersey's elite.
