When you're the son of a WWE Hall of Famer, you learn early that life is all about the big entrance. For Brock Rechsteiner, that entrance is now coming in the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints signed the wide receiver as an undrafted free agent on May 12, giving the Jacksonville State product a shot to make the roster. But if football doesn't work out? Rechsteiner already has a pretty solid backup plan—following his father Scott Steiner's footsteps into the squared circle.

"I want to pursue football as long as I can, play as long as I can, but once I'm done, I'll get into wrestling, too," Rechsteiner said at New Orleans' rookie minicamp over the weekend.

The 6-foot-3 receiver impressed enough during a tryout at the Saints' rookie minicamp to earn a spot on the team's 90-man roster heading into OTAs and mandatory minicamp. It's a classic underdog story, with Rechsteiner looking to prove he belongs in a Saints offense headlined by Chris Olave and first-round pick Jordyn Tyson.

His college numbers won't blow you away—53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns over three seasons at Jacksonville State, plus 17 rushing yards and another score last year—but Rechsteiner brings the kind of athletic pedigree that makes undrafted free agents worth a flyer.

Interestingly, he's not the first Rechsteiner to get an NFL opportunity. His cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner—better known to wrestling fans as Bron Breakker—signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent fullback in 2020 before being released in August and launching his wrestling career.

Now it's Brock's turn to see if he can make the leap from the gridiron to—potentially—the ring. But for now, his focus is squarely on football, with a wrestling career waiting in the wings if the NFL dream doesn't pan out.
