Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid gives some insight into his summer workout plans as he finally has a healthy summer.

For the first time in years, Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid is entering the offseason with a clear goal: training, not rehabbing. After multiple summers spent recovering from surgeries, the big man finally has a healthy window to focus on getting better—and he's ready to make the most of it.

"I'm going into the summer—obviously, I gotta recover from everything that has been happening," Embiid said following the Sixers' Game 4 loss to the New York Knicks. "That's first, and after that, just being able to actually work out, which I haven't done in a couple of years. So, that's exciting. Having the chance to be more prepared with everything body-wise and my game—that's going to be key."

Embiid's recent health battles, including an appendectomy and hip and ankle injuries, limited his playoff impact. But now, with a clean bill of health, he's eyeing a full summer of skill development and conditioning—a luxury he hasn't had in recent memory.

The Sixers' landscape is shifting. Rookie VJ Edgecombe has emerged alongside Tyrese Maxey in the backcourt, signaling a new timeline in Philadelphia. While veterans like Embiid and Paul George remain, the franchise's future clearly leans on its younger stars. That shift allows Embiid to embrace a dual role: sharpening his own game while mentoring the next generation.

"I think VJ—I'm going to talk to him. He's going to be better. He was amazing for his first year," Embiid said. "Tyrese is gonna be better and he's taking a step every single year. PG, we saw the last couple of weeks—he's still got it. For me, I'm excited about me getting back to myself."

Of course, no Embiid offseason interview is complete without a dose of uncertainty. "I don't even know if I'm gonna be here," he added with his trademark candor—a line he drops every summer, reminding everyone that in the NBA, business is always part of the game.

For Sixers fans, the real story is simple: a healthy, motivated Embiid with a full offseason ahead could mean big things for Philadelphia—and for anyone who loves watching one of the game's most dominant forces at his best.
