Outfielder Henry George emphasized the importance of leadership during this transition. “For me, I want to have an impact on the field, but more so in the clubhouse—especially with the rookies. Helping them adjust to pro ball as smoothly as possible is a big priority,” he said.

Steve Montgomery, the winningest manager in Explorers history, echoed that sentiment while also highlighting the team’s fresh energy. “Veteran leadership is always valuable, but I’m really excited about the youth and athleticism on this squad. We showed well yesterday, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to what you do on that 60 feet, 6 inches,” Montgomery said, referencing the distance from the pitcher’s mound to home plate.
