In the regular-season finale at Chase Center, the short-handed Warriors had no answer for LeBron James and the Lakers in a 119-103 loss on Thursday.

The Warriors' regular-season home finale at Chase Center turned into a showcase for LeBron James and the Lakers, as a depleted Golden State squad fell 119-103 on Thursday night. Facing the challenge without Steph Curry, the Warriors simply couldn't contain the Lakers' offensive firepower.

LeBron James set the tone early, dropping 18 first-half points to give Los Angeles a narrow halftime lead. He controlled the game from there, finishing with a masterful 26 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. With Deandre Ayton adding an efficient 21 points, the Lakers' balanced attack proved too much, as seven different players scored in double figures.

On the Warriors' side, the effort was spread thin. Nate Williams and rookie Brandin Podziemski co-led the team with 17 points each, with Williams continuing a recent scoring surge. Newcomer Charles Bassey provided a bright spot off the bench with a solid double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. However, without a primary scorer to match James's output, the Warriors couldn't mount a sustained comeback in the second half.

The loss underscores the challenge of competing shorthanded against a veteran-led contender. As the Warriors hit the road to close the season, this game serves as a reminder of the elite talent and depth required to win in the modern NBA.
