The doctor said: go to Colorado and heal.

When the doctor says "go to Colorado and heal," you listen. For the Arizona Diamondbacks, a trip to Coors Field might just be the perfect prescription after a rough week.

Let's be honest—this team was never really playoff-bound. The starting rotation has been on a steady decline, with big-money signings failing to deliver and an ace who never quite became one. The bullpen? It's been nearly a decade since we could call it reliable. Patchwork after patchwork, but never pretty.

The hitting was electric the last few seasons, but the front office didn't capitalize. Now, with key sluggers gone, the lineup feels thin. Torey Lovullo keeps saying "we'll be fine," but what does fine mean? A .500 team? Maybe. I had them pegged below .500 before the season started, so .500 would be an upgrade. Still, it feels like another lost season.

Enter the Colorado Rockies—the ultimate pick-me-up in baseball.

You might not remember, but the Rockies made some interesting front office moves this winter. Owner Dick Monfort's son took over as team president, former Diamondbacks GM Josh Byrnes came over from the Dodgers, and Paul Podesta—yes, the guy from the Cleveland Browns—was named president of baseball operations. Quite a mix.

On the field, they let Germán Márquez walk to San Diego and signed a trio of veteran starters to one-year deals: Michael Lorenzen, Jose Quintana, and Tomoyuki Sugano. In the lineup, they brought in Willi Castro on a two-year contract and traded for our own Jake McCarthy. Not exactly a blockbuster rebuild.

So, while the Diamondbacks might be struggling, a series against the Rockies is the perfect chance to get back on track. After all, if you can't find your groove in Colorado, where can you?
