Pocono Raceway has done it again. For the third straight year, the iconic "Tricky Triangle" has been voted the top NASCAR track in the country, claiming the No. 1 spot in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice travel awards for 2026. It's a remarkable achievement that solidifies Pocono's place as a fan favorite in the world of motorsports.
Originally opening its gates in 1969 in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, the track underwent a transformative redesign in 1971, adopting the unique triangular shape that has made it one of the most challenging and beloved circuits on the NASCAR calendar. Its three distinct turns—each with different banking and lengths—demand precision and versatility from drivers, earning it the nickname "The Tricky Triangle."
"Winning this award once is special. Going back-to-back is an honor. But earning it three years in a row speaks volumes," said Pocono Raceway President Ben May. "This recognition belongs to our fans, whose passion for 'The Tricky Triangle' continues to fuel everything we do. It also reflects our team’s commitment to delivering a first-class experience and the incredible support of our partners and community."
Fans can mark their calendars for an action-packed race weekend, set for the second weekend in June. The festivities kick off on Thursday, June 12, with the ARCA Menards Series race, followed by the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly the Xfinity Series) on Friday, June 13. The weekend culminates with the Cup Series' Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISITPA on Saturday, June 14—broadcast live on Amazon Prime for the second consecutive year.
While Pocono took the top honor, other legendary tracks rounded out the top spots, including Watkins Glen International in New York, Daytona International Speedway in Florida, and New Hampshire International Speedway in New Hampshire. For fans of high-speed action and unforgettable race weekends, Pocono Raceway continues to set the standard—proving that the Tricky Triangle is more than just a track; it's a destination.
