The New York Giants have officially signed second-round pick Colton Hood to his rookie contract, locking in the talented cornerback for the next four years. Selected with the 37th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Hood joins a Giants defense eager to bolster its secondary with young, dynamic talent.

Hood’s deal, structured according to the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, is worth $12.95 million and includes a hefty $5.878 million signing bonus. His 2026 salary cap hit will be a manageable $2.534 million—a smart investment for a team looking to build for the future.

With Hood now in the fold, the Giants have just two unsigned draft picks remaining: first-rounders Arvell Reese (No. 5 overall) and Francis Mauigoa (No. 10). As training camp approaches, all eyes will be on these two top prospects to see when they’ll put pen to paper.

In other Giants news, the organization released a statement mourning the passing of former quarterback Craig Morton, who died at age 83. Morton, who also played for the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, spent three seasons with New York after being traded from Dallas in 1974. He started 33 of 34 games for the Giants through 1976, leaving a lasting legacy as a leader and teammate during his 18-year NFL career.
