Was LSU baseball's sweep of South Carolina enough to climb the power rankings? Did Georgia hold the top spot?

The race for the SEC baseball crown is heating up as we enter the final stretch of the regular season. With just two weekends left before the conference tournament in Hoover, every series carries serious weight for teams eyeing NCAA Tournament berths.

Georgia continues to dominate, holding firm at the top of our power rankings after sweeping Missouri. The Bulldogs now sit 2.5 games clear in the SEC standings, and Wes Johnson's squad looks built for a deep postseason run. With MLB-caliber talent both at the plate and on the mound, Georgia is proving why they're the team to beat.

Texas is making noise and climbing the rankings, showing the kind of momentum that could carry them into hosting territory. Meanwhile, the bubble picture is getting interesting. LSU swept South Carolina over the weekend, giving Jay Johnson's Tigers a much-needed boost. Omar Serna and Cade Arrambide continue to mash, and the pitching staff looked elite. But there's still work to do if LSU wants to make the dance. A statement series at Georgia this weekend could change everything.

Vanderbilt took a tumble after getting swept. The Commodores have a decent lineup, but the pitching staff is raising too many question marks. Tennessee, meanwhile, remains a tough read. I was high on the Vols last week, suggesting they're better than their record shows. I still believe that, but it's getting harder to justify keeping them in the top 10 after Kentucky took two of three from them. The Wildcats rank fifth in the SEC with a .267 batting average and nearly completed the sweep.

Oklahoma sits at .500 in SEC play after dropping a series to Florida, but the Sooners boast eight quad-one wins and a No. 19 RPI ranking. Arkansas is trending in the right direction after a series win over Ole Miss, though I still have the Rebels a step ahead. Missouri and South Carolina remain at the bottom of the barrel after both were swept again.

As the calendar flips to May, the pressure is on. Some teams are fighting for regional hosting spots, others for super regional bids, and a few are simply battling for a seat at the table. Every pitch counts from here on out.
