Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev are trading more than just punches—they're trading accusations over a leaked training clip that has set the MMA world buzzing.
With UFC 328 just around the corner, the bad blood between these two fighters has boiled over into everything from personal insults to threats. But the latest flashpoint? A 26-second video from a past sparring session at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas.
Chimaev, who posted the clip on Tuesday with the caption "I am bullying weak people," seemed to aim for a psychological edge. The footage shows the two light sparring, but nothing particularly explosive happens—at least not to the untrained eye.
Strickland, however, was clearly rattled. Speaking at Wednesday's pre-fight press conference, he didn't hold back. "I didn't even know we were filming. Those were warm-up rounds. The guy is just a little rat, dude," he said, adding that the shorts he was wearing were "a little questionable" and bought from Amazon. "It was a bad angle. I like women and he likes goats. I win there."
The former champion doubled down on his earlier claim that Chimaev avoids real competition in the gym. "We only sparred once—a three-round session. When I go to a gym, I want to spar the best guys. But he'd always go beat up the lower-level guys," Strickland said.
This kind of pre-fight drama isn't new in the UFC, but it adds a layer of personal tension to what's already a highly anticipated showdown. For fans, it's a reminder that in the octagon, mind games can be just as important as physical strength. And with both men refusing to back down, this week's trash talk is far from over.
