Seamer Hinge halts Suryavanshi in remarkable debut

Seamer Praful Hinge took three wickets in his first over, including in-form 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a first-ball duck, in a game of impressive debuts for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. Opening the bowling, right-armer Hinge, 24, had Suryavanshi caught off a top edge, ending the teenager's run of form after scores of 78 in 26 balls, 39, 31 and 52. Hinge then bowled India international Dhruv Jurel, concluded the first over with a third wicket as South African Lhuan-dre Pretorius was caught at deep square leg and finished with figures of 4-34 as Sunrisers won by 57 runs.

Talk about making an entrance! Sunrisers Hyderabad's Praful Hinge announced his arrival in the IPL with a debut for the ages, single-handedly dismantling the Rajasthan Royals' top order in a stunning opening spell.

The 24-year-old seamer, playing in his first-ever IPL match, achieved a historic feat by taking three wickets in his very first over. The highlight was dismissing the red-hot 15-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, for a golden duck with his first ball, abruptly ending the teenager's sensational run of form.

Hinge wasn't done there. He clean-bowled India international Dhruv Jurel and then capped off a dream over by having South Africa's Lhuan-dre Pretorius caught at deep square leg. He finished with excellent figures of 4-34, becoming the first bowler ever to take three wickets in the opening over of an IPL match.

Hinge wasn't the only debutant to shine. With captain Pat Cummins and others absent, fellow seamer Sakib Hussain also seized his opportunity, taking 4-24 after dismissing star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early. Their combined opening burst left the Royals reeling at 9-5, and they were eventually bowled out for 159.

Sunrisers had set a formidable target of 216-6, powered by a brilliant 91 from Ishan Kishan and a quickfire 40 from Heinrich Klaasen. This commanding win, fueled by standout performances from new faces, shows the incredible depth and exciting future of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad.
