There's a new tallest cornerback in the NFL.

In a move that's turning heads across the league, the Seattle Seahawks are flipping the script—literally. Tyrone Broden, a 6-foot-5 wide receiver who spent last season on the team's practice squad, is making the switch to cornerback.

That height? It's not just impressive—it's historic. At 6-foot-5, Broden would become the tallest cornerback to ever play in a regular-season NFL game. According to Pro Football Reference, no player taller than 6-foot-4 has ever lined up at the position in the league's history. Last season, two corners stood at that max height: Seattle's own Riq Woolen (now with the Eagles) and Chicago's Nahshon Wright (now with the Jets). Broden has a full inch on both of them.

The 25-year-old Broden brings a unique athletic background to the defensive side of the ball. He played wide receiver throughout his college career—three seasons at Bowling Green followed by two at Arkansas. Undrafted in 2025, he spent the entire year on Seattle's practice squad, learning the pro game from the sidelines.

Now, the challenge is clear: Broden must earn a spot on the Seahawks' regular-season roster at an entirely new position. It's a steep climb, but if he makes it, he won't just be a roster addition—he'll be a piece of NFL history.
