Great news for South Dakota hoops! The South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association (SDBCA) has just announced its 2025 regional and lower-level coaches of the year, recognizing 37 outstanding mentors for their dedication on the sidelines.
These awards highlight the incredible talent shaping the next generation of players across the state, from the gyms of Rapid City to Sioux Falls. Coaching at any level demands passion, strategy, and a commitment to building not just athletes, but character—qualities we celebrate in the basketball community.
This year's honorees include a fantastic group of leaders. In Region 1, Andrea Begeman of Clark/Willow Lake was named Girls Head Coach of the Year, while William Richter from Britton/Hecla earned Boys Assistant Coach honors. The awards span all regions, with notable winners like Kyle Courtney (Boys Head Coach, Rapid City Christian) in Region 5 and Jared Jansen (Boys Assistant Coach, Sioux Falls Lincoln) in Region 3.
Congratulations to all 37 coaches for this well-deserved recognition. Your hard work is the foundation of the game, inspiring players to push their limits every time they step on the court.
