In a heartwarming display of teamwork and resilience, Heidenheim secured a commanding 3-1 victory away at Köln, thanks in part to the stellar spirit within the squad. Coach Frank Schmidt made a bold decision to start 22-year-old second-choice goalkeeper Frank Feller, who was making only his second Bundesliga appearance of the season after missing the entire first half due to injury.

"When we told Diant (Ramaj) about our decision yesterday, he said he was expecting it," Schmidt revealed after the match. "I asked him if we could count on him, and he replied, 'I count on you guys, too.' That's how we operate—we're a unit!" This exchange highlights the camaraderie that defines Heidenheim's locker room.

Ramaj had a tough outing earlier this season, conceding a heartbreaking 101st-minute equalizer against Bayern Munich after Michael Olise's shot deflected off his back from the post. Feller, too, could have done better on Marius Bülter's tight-angle strike for Köln's goal, but he otherwise delivered a solid performance. "After we went up 3-1, we defended with clear purpose. Frank Feller also had an incredibly important moment, saving a header brilliantly," Schmidt added, praising his understudy.

For Feller, who joined Heidenheim at age 15, the match was a special milestone. "I'm always happy when I get to play," he said after his fourth Bundesliga appearance. "It felt a bit like a debut since it had been so long. I was thrilled to play in front of such a crowd, and my whole family was there."

Looking ahead, Feller is expected to retain his spot for next week's home clash against Mainz. If Heidenheim can leapfrog Wolfsburg and St. Pauli—who play simultaneously—they'll face the team finishing third in the 2. Bundesliga. With this kind of team spirit, anything is possible.
