USHL Western Conference Finals – Game 2
The Fargo Force edged out the Sioux Falls Stampede in a nail-biting 2-1 overtime victory. The series is now tied at one game apiece, setting up a pivotal Game 3.
College Baseball
Augustana rolled past Minnesota Crookston with an 8-0 shutout, while SDSU scraped by NDSU in a tight 5-4 contest. USF powered past Minot State 11-9, and Winona State exploded for 27 runs in a lopsided 27-8 win over Northern State in just seven innings.
College Softball
Augustana dominated Jamestown with back-to-back shutouts (8-0 and 2-0). NDSU crushed SDSU 15-2 in five innings, while Omaha topped USD 13-4. USF swept U-Mary with 3-0 and 7-2 wins, and Northern State edged Wayne State 3-2.
High School Softball
Avon had a stellar day, winning three games—12-7 over Howard, 5-1 over Vermillion, and 7-1 over Bon Homme. Gayville-Volin also impressed with a 16-1 win over Winner. Madison shut out Canton 15-0, and O'Gorman outslugged Pierre 13-8. Scotland/Menno went undefeated with three wins, including a 13-2 victory over Ethan/Parkston.
High School Baseball
Brandon Valley edged Watertown 18-8 in a high-scoring affair, while Canton slipped past Elk Point-Jefferson 4-2. McCook Central/Montrose swept a doubleheader against Hanson/Bridgewater/Emery (4-3 and 9-0). Rapid City Christian notched three wins, including a 12-7 victory over Groton Area. Tea Area swept Huron with 5-3 and 6-4 wins, and Winner/Colome crushed Rapid City Christian 15-8.
