Southampton winger Leo Scienza says it would be a "dream" if his side were able to return to Wembley for the Championship play-off final later this month.

Southampton winger Leo Scienza has set his sights on a return to Wembley, calling it a "dream" to lead the Saints back to the Premier League through the Championship play-off final later this month.

The Saints face a two-legged semi-final against fifth-placed Middlesbrough, starting Saturday at the Riverside Stadium before the decisive return leg at St Mary's on Tuesday. The winner will face either Millwall or Hull City for a coveted spot in England's top flight.

Scienza, who joined Southampton last summer, has quickly become a fan favorite at St Mary's. The 27-year-old has notched seven goals and ten assists this season, primarily operating from the left wing. His arrival from Germany—where he spent most of his recent career—marked his first taste of English football, signed under manager Will Still.

"Of course I think it's the dream to get to Wembley for a second time," Scienza told BBC Radio Solent. "To go up to the Premier League was my personal goal when I arrived here, to bring not only myself to the level of the Premier League but to help the city of Southampton return to it."

The Saints have already experienced Wembley magic this season, though it ended in disappointment with an FA Cup semi-final loss to Manchester City. Scienza believes the team is ready to write a different story this time around.

"It's a club that has to be in the top flight, but we must focus hard on the next two games because they will be very challenging," he said.

Reflecting on a season that started slowly, Scienza emphasized the team's growth. "If you see how this season started, this was our biggest goal, to reach the play-offs. At the end of the season now, because of our own good performance, we put a big dream not just in our hearts, but also in the fans, that we could get directly promoted."

With the second leg at home, the winger is confident in the support of the St Mary's faithful. "We're in a good position and play the second game also at home. This is also very important with our fans. I'm looking forward to it because I believe we are in a good spot, we are ready."

For Southampton, a return to the Premier League would not just be a triumph for the squad—it would restore the club to what Scienza calls its rightful place among England's elite.
