The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off live from Pittsburgh on Thursday, April 23 and the latest crop of rookies will be hearing their names called all weekend long. For the New Orleans Saints, the biggest need is an obvious one: Wide receiver.
Wide receiver Chris Olave is annually on the trading block and is entering the final year of his contract. With Olave's long-term future in doubt, it'll behoove the Saints to get a young pass-catcher they can develop alongside second-year QB Tyler Shough. The Saints haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver other than Olave since Michael Thomas in 2019.

It was between the top two edge rushers in this class for New Orleans to get a boost to their pass rush. The Saints need more than just Chase Young getting after opposing quarterbacks. Bain was one of the more productive edge rushers in the country in 2025. Yes, his arm length is a big question mark but he's a powerful presence ready-made to contribute on the edge.

Kamara will turn 31 in July, and the Saints seem to have found their new (and younger) lead back in free agency by signing Travis Etienne. Kamara had a rough 2025 season with a knee injury cutting things short, but he finished just shy of 1,500 scrimmage yards in 2024 with eight touchdowns. There are plenty of teams that should be enticed by a veteran running back with the kind of dual-threat abilities Kamara has.
