The Sabres have had enough of ESPN mispronouncing their goaltender's name.

The Buffalo Sabres have found a creative way to settle the score—not on the ice, but on social media. After ESPN analyst and former Montreal Canadiens star P.K. Subban repeatedly stumbled over the pronunciation of Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's name, the team fired back with a playful jab that's quickly become a fan favorite.

The drama unfolded during the playoffs, with Subban struggling to say "Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen" during broadcasts—an issue that has persisted since Buffalo's postseason run began in April. Even weeks later, with the Sabres battling for a spot in the Western Conference Final, ESPN's panel hasn't quite nailed it down. In one particularly awkward moment, Subban was heard saying, "Probably should mention Buffalo's goalie's name, did you want to take a crack at that, anybody?"

But the Sabres had the perfect response. On Wednesday, Buffalo's social media team posted a hilarious video featuring a group of young children—presumably native Finnish speakers or just well-coached fans—effortlessly pronouncing Luukkonen's name with a smile. The caption read: "It's really not that hard, @espn...Learn from the pros."

The timing couldn't be better. Luukkonen, who replaced Alex Lyon as the starting goalie in Game 4, delivered a clutch performance to help the Sabres tie the series against the Canadiens. After allowing two early goals, the Finnish netminder locked in, stopping every shot Montreal threw at him for the remainder of the game—finishing with 29 saves on 31 shots. It was a statement win, and Luukkonen's steady play has Buffalo believing he's the man to lead them deeper into the playoffs.

If Luukkonen keeps performing at this level, ESPN and P.K. Subban might want to get his name right—because they're going to be hearing it a lot more. For Sabres fans, that's music to their ears. And for the rest of us, it's just another reminder that sometimes the best defense is a good social media troll.
