The Buffalo Sabres received a tough injury update on rookie forward Noah Ostlund ahead of Friday's pivotal Game 6 against the Boston Bruins, a matchup that could swing the series in either direction.

Head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed on Wednesday that Ostlund is expected to miss "a period of time" due to a lower-body injury sustained in Boston's Game 5 win. "The news wasn't good," Ruff told reporters. "Don't know exactly how much, but he's gonna miss some time."

The injury occurred when Casey Mittelstadt fell awkwardly on Ostlund's left leg during a battle along the boards. The rookie forward immediately left the ice with a noticeable limp and, despite testing the injury between whistles, was unable to return to action.

Ostlund had been a bright spot for Buffalo in the series, notching a goal and an assist in the team's Game 3 victory. His absence leaves a gap in the Sabres' forward depth as they look to close out the series on the road.

However, there is a silver lining for Buffalo: Josh Norris, who missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury, is ready to return for Game 6. Norris was sidelined for Games 1 and 2 and remained unavailable for Game 3 despite being cleared to play. His return could provide a much-needed offensive spark.

The Bruins, meanwhile, are fighting for survival after grinding out a Game 5 win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Game 6 shifts back to Boston on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., where the Bruins must win to force a decisive Game 7.

For fans gearing up for the action, this series is a reminder that every game matters—and having the right gear to support your team can make all the difference. Whether you're repping the Sabres' blue and gold or the Bruins' black and gold, stay ready for the next face-off.
