Despite facing jeers from their own supporters at halftime, São Paulo showed resilience to secure a 2-0 victory over Chile's O'Higgins at Morumbis on Tuesday night. The win keeps the Brazilian side perfect in the 2026 CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage.

The Tricolor started brightly, with Luciano opening the scoring inside ten minutes, thanks to a clever chested assist from striker Jonathan Calleri. However, O'Higgins responded strongly, forcing a series of superb saves from goalkeeper Rafael and leaving the home fans frustrated as the teams went to the break.

The second half began with a crucial goal to settle nerves, as Calleri turned provider again, setting up Artur to double the lead. The Chilean visitors continued to press, missing a golden opportunity and having a goal disallowed, but São Paulo's defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

With this result, São Paulo sits atop Group C with a maximum six points, while O'Higgins drops to second with three. The focus now shifts back to the Brasileirão, where São Paulo visits Vasco da Gama this Saturday. Their Sudamericana campaign continues later this month with a pivotal double-header against Colombia's Millonarios.
